This medicine pairs oxycodone, a strong opioid painkiller, with naltrexone, which is added to discourage misuse. Mixing it with beer is a real concern. Alcohol and opioids both slow down the brain and body, so combining them stacks those effects on top of each other. You could feel much more drowsy, dizzy, confused, or unsteady than expected.

The bigger worry is that alcohol can slow your breathing along with the oxycodone, which in some cases becomes dangerous or even life-threatening. There is also a special risk with these extended-release capsules: drinking alcohol may cause the opioid to release too fast, leading to a sudden overdose. Please don't drink beer with this one, and talk with your pharmacist or doctor about safe choices.

Troxyca ER pairs the opioid oxycodone with naltrexone. The oxycodone is a real opioid that slows breathing, calms the brain, and relieves pain. Mixing it with beer is a genuine concern. Alcohol can slow how your body clears the oxycodone, so more of it stays active in your system. On top of that, both alcohol and oxycodone are sedatives, so their effects stack on each other.

That combination can mean heavy drowsiness, confusion, dizziness, very shallow or slowed breathing, and in serious cases an overdose. There is also a real risk that alcohol disrupts the product's extended-release design and dumps too much oxycodone at once. Please don't drink any beer while taking this medicine, and check with your pharmacist or doctor about your specific situation.
