Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Enalapril Maleate
Enalapril Maleate falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Beer interacts with.
Clinical research suggests that consumption of alcohol can increase both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. However, acute alcohol intoxication can also increase the risk of hypotension and additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to keep in mind if you're taking enalapril (Vasotec, Epaned) for blood pressure or heart failure: alcohol and this medication can pull in two different directions. Over time, regular or heavier drinking tends to push blood pressure up, which can work against what your enalapril is trying to do. But a drink or two in the short term can do the opposite and stack on top of the medication's blood-pressure-lowering effect.
That combined drop can leave you feeling dizzy or lightheaded, especially when you stand up quickly. The evidence here is moderate, not rock-solid, and an occasional drink isn't likely to cause a crisis. Still, if you drink regularly, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor so your numbers stay where you want them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Enalapril Maleate page
“Potassium is the supplement I worry about first with enalapril maleate (Vasotec, Epaned). This ACE inhibitor, used for high blood pressure and heart failure, already makes the body hold onto potassium, so adding more can raise blood levels too far, a problem called hyperkalemia.”

About Beer
What is Beer?
- Social and recreational drinking
- Relaxation
- Heart health (popular belief)
- Bone health (popular belief)
- Source of antioxidants and B vitamins
Beer is an alcoholic beverage that contains some minerals, B vitamins, and plant compounds from hops and grain, but it is not a health supplement. Any possible benefits come only from light-to-moderate intake, and they are easily outweighed by the well-known harms of alcohol. The safest amount of alcohol for health is none, and beer should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
About Enalapril
What Is Enalapril Used For?
Brand names: Vasotec, Epaned
Enalapril is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children older than one month, and to treat symptomatic heart failure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack.
It is also used for asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction — when the heart's pumping ability is reduced but the person doesn't yet have obvious heart failure symptoms — to slow the progression to overt heart failure and reduce hospitalizations. Enalapril maleate oral solution (including Epaned) and enalapril maleate tablets (including Vasotec) share these three approved uses.
