Vadadustat falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Biofeedback interacts with.

There is some concern that electroencephalogram (EEG) biofeedback might lower the seizure threshold in some patients. Theoretically, combining EEG biofeedback with seizure threshold-lowering drugs might increase the risk of seizure.
Some drugs that lower the seizure threshold include anesthetics (propofol, others), antiarrhythmics (mexiletine), antibiotics (amphotericin, penicillin, cephalosporins, imipenem), antidepressants (bupropion, others), antihistamines (cyproheptadine, others), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine), narcotics (fentanyl, others), stimulants (methylphenidate), theophylline, and others.

Here's the honest picture: this concern is mostly theoretical, and it really only applies to one specific type of biofeedback, EEG (brainwave) biofeedback. The worry is that EEG biofeedback might slightly lower the seizure threshold in certain people. If you're also taking a medication that can do the same thing, the combination could, in theory, make a seizure a bit more likely.

Now, Vadadustat (Vafseo) is used to treat anemia in people with chronic kidney disease, and it's grouped with drugs that may lower the seizure threshold. This isn't a strong, well-proven interaction, and everyday stress-management biofeedback is very safe. Still, if you have a seizure history or are considering EEG-based biofeedback specifically, it's worth a quick chat with your doctor or pharmacist first.
