Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Biofeedback interacts with.

There is some concern that electroencephalogram (EEG) biofeedback might lower the seizure threshold in some patients. Theoretically, combining EEG biofeedback with seizure threshold-lowering drugs might increase the risk of seizure.
Some drugs that lower the seizure threshold include anesthetics (propofol, others), antiarrhythmics (mexiletine), antibiotics (amphotericin, penicillin, cephalosporins, imipenem), antidepressants (bupropion, others), antihistamines (cyproheptadine, others), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine), narcotics (fentanyl, others), stimulants (methylphenidate), theophylline, and others.

Here's the gist of this one. Aripiprazole lauroxil (Aristada) is a long-acting antipsychotic injection, and like many drugs in its family it can slightly lower the seizure threshold, meaning the brain becomes a touch more prone to a seizure. The concern on file is that EEG biofeedback specifically (training based on brainwaves) might also nudge that threshold downward in some people, so theoretically using both could add up.

I want to be honest about how soft this is. It's a theoretical worry, the risk is only possible, and most people using biofeedback for stress, headaches, or pelvic floor issues won't run into trouble. Seizures with aripiprazole are uncommon to begin with. Still, if you have a seizure history or you're doing neurofeedback, just give your doctor or pharmacist a quick heads-up first.

Aripiprazole injection is used to treat schizophrenia and to provide maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder in adults. Different injectable products carry these approvals.

Abilify Asimtufii is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance monotherapy for bipolar I disorder in adults. Aristada is approved for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults, with Aristada Initio used specifically to help start Aristada therapy.
