Vildagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Black Mulberry interacts with.

Theoretically, black mulberry leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
One small clinical study shows that black mulberry leaf extract has hypoglycemic effects. This is supported by in vitro research which also suggests that constituents in black mulberry twigs and leaves might have hypoglycemic effects.

Here's the simple version. Vildagliptin already works to gently lower your blood sugar by helping your body release more of its own insulin after meals. Black mulberry leaf, especially in concentrated extract form, may also nudge blood sugar downward thanks to a compound called DNJ that slows how you absorb sugars. Stack the two together and, in theory, your numbers could dip a bit lower than expected.

To be clear, this is a theoretical concern based mostly on lab work and one small study, so it's not a reason to panic. Eating mulberries as fruit is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using a concentrated leaf supplement, just watch for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, or dizziness, and check in with your pharmacist or doctor first.
