Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Black Psyllium interacts with.

Theoretically, psyllium might increase, decrease, or have no effect on the absorption of oral drugs.
Psyllium seems to have variable effects on drug absorption. To avoid changes in absorption, take psyllium 30-60 minutes after oral medications. Animal research shows that blond psyllium delays and increases the absorption of metformin and ethinyl estradiol. Case reports and animal research suggest that blond psyllium might reduce absorption of lithium, digoxin, olanzapine, and carbamazepine. Finally, some pharmacokinetic studies show that psyllium does not affect the absorption of levothyroxine or warfarin. Although many of these studies evaluated blond psyllium, the fiber content in black psyllium may have similar effects.

Here's the simple version: black psyllium is a soluble fiber that turns into a thick gel in your gut. That gel can grab onto whatever else is in your stomach at the same time, including the hormones in your birth control pill (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol). The effect is unpredictable. It might slightly slow or change how much of the pill you absorb, which theoretically could nudge your hormone levels.

The good news is this is rated minor, and the evidence is limited and mostly from animal studies. To play it safe, just separate them: take your pill first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before your psyllium. Since reliable birth control matters, check with your pharmacist or doctor if you have questions.

Theoretically, taking black psyllium at the same time as ethinyl estradiol might alter levels of estradiol.
Concurrent use of blond psyllium with ethinyl estradiol results in a slight increase in the extent of ethinyl estradiol absorption and a slower rate of absorption. This is unlikely to be clinically significant.

Here's the short version: your birth control pill, Yasmin or Gianvi, contains ethinyl estradiol, and the gentle fiber in black psyllium isn't likely to cause any real trouble. The concern on file is only theoretical, based on lab-type studies, not on people running into problems. One study with a related psyllium even showed a tiny bump in how much ethinyl estradiol was absorbed, plus a slightly slower absorption, but it was considered too small to matter.

So I wouldn't expect changes in how well your pill works or in side effects like nausea or breast tenderness. To play it safe and keep the fiber from soaking up your medicine, I'd separate them by a couple of hours. If you have questions, your pharmacist is happy to help.
