Here's the simple version. Chloral hydrate is a sedative that already does a good job of making you drowsy and slowing your body down. Black seed, in animal studies, seems to have its own mild calming, sleep-promoting effect on the brain. Put the two together and the worry is that they pile on top of each other, so you could feel more groggy, lightheaded, or unsteady than you expected, with slower breathing in heavier cases.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this comes from lab and animal research, not human studies, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven one. A sprinkle of black seed as a kitchen spice is unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplement doses are the real question mark. Since chloral hydrate is a strong sedative, please run this by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
