Here's the heart of it: both GHB and chloral hydrate are strong sedatives that slow down your brain and nervous system. When you stack two depressants like this, their calming effects don't just add up, they can pile on top of each other. That means deeper sedation than you'd expect, dangerously slow or shallow breathing, a heavy drop in alertness, and in a worst-case situation, unconsciousness that's hard to wake from.

Honestly, this is a combination to steer well clear of. GHB sold outside of a prescription is illegal and unpredictable, and pairing it with a sedative like chloral hydrate is genuinely risky. The evidence here is mostly anecdotal, but the danger is real enough that I'd never recommend mixing them. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining anything that affects sleep or sedation.

What is Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (ghb)?

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
