Here's the simple version: codeine already slows things down. It eases pain and can make you drowsy. The concern with black seed is that, in animal studies, it appeared to have its own calming, sedative-type effect on the nervous system. Stack the two and you might feel extra sleepy, foggy, or off-balance, and in larger amounts that could mean slower breathing.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This is theoretical, based on lab and animal work, not real people taking both together. A sprinkle of black seed as a spice in food is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated black seed oil capsules are the bigger question mark. If you take both, just loop in your pharmacist or doctor first.
