Here's the gist with Kevzara (sarilumab): it's an injectable biologic that calms your immune system to ease rheumatoid arthritis. The concern with black seed is that it might nudge your immune system, but honestly the research pulls in both directions. Some lab and animal studies hint it could rev immunity up, while others suggest it dampens it. Either way, we're talking test tubes and animals, not people.

So this is a theoretical flag, not a proven problem. In plain terms, there's a slim chance black seed could either work against Kevzara's effect or add to its immune-lowering, which might mean more infection risk. Food-amount black seed in cooking is unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplements are less studied, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding one.

It is generally well tolerated in food amounts, but supplement-strength doses are less studied, so talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it—especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or take other medicines.

About Sarilumab Injection

What Is Sarilumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Kevzara

Kevzara (sarilumab) injection is approved for three conditions. In adults, it treats moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) when at least one other disease-modifying drug hasn't worked well enough or caused intolerance. It also treats polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) in adults who haven't responded adequately to corticosteroids or who can't tolerate tapering them.

Kevzara is also approved for polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA) — a form of childhood arthritis — but only in patients who weigh 63 kg (about 139 lbs) or more. It is not approved for pediatric patients below that weight due to the lack of an appropriate dosage form.
