Here's the gist of it: Ingrezza (valbenazine) is known to cause drowsiness and tiredness on its own. Black seed, based mostly on lab and animal research, may have its own mild calming or sedative effect on the brain. So the concern is simply that the two together could add up and leave you feeling sleepier, more fatigued, or less alert than usual.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. This isn't something proven in people, it's mostly theoretical from animal studies, so I wouldn't panic. Food amounts of black seed as a spice are very unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplement doses are less studied, so it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, and don't change your Ingrezza on your own.

What Is Valbenazine Used For?

Brand name: Ingrezza

Valbenazine — sold as Ingrezza and INGREZZA Sprinkle — is approved for two conditions in adults. The first is tardive dyskinesia, a movement disorder that causes uncontrolled, repetitive facial or body movements, often brought on by long-term use of certain psychiatric medications. The second is chorea associated with Huntington's disease, which refers to the involuntary, dance-like jerking movements that are a hallmark of that condition.

Both Ingrezza and INGREZZA Sprinkle are approved for both of these uses.
