Anagrelide falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Blood Irradiation Therapy interacts with.

Preliminary clinical research suggests that blood irradiation therapy might reduce platelet aggregation. Case reports also suggest that blood irradiation therapy may be associated with an increased risk of nasal bleeding. Theoretically, blood irradiation therapy might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
Some of these drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam, others), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: anagrelide does more than just lower your platelet count. At higher doses it can also make the platelets you do have a little less sticky, so it carries some mild blood-thinning effect of its own. Blood irradiation therapy (a light-based procedure, not a pill) has been linked in early reports to reduced platelet clumping and even some nosebleeds.

So in theory, doing both together could nudge your bleeding risk a bit higher. You might notice easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums. I want to be honest though, this concern is theoretical and based on how each works, not on strong studies. Please don't change anything on your own. Just loop in your doctor or pharmacist before pursuing this therapy.

Both Agrylin and generic anagrelide capsules are used to treat thrombocythemia secondary to myeloproliferative neoplasms — a condition where bone marrow disorders cause dangerously high platelet counts.
