Preliminary clinical research and one case report suggest that blood irradiation therapy may lower blood glucose levels. Theoretically, concomitant use with antidiabetes drugs might affect glucose control and increase the risk of hypoglycemia; use with caution. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.

Here's the gist: some early research and a single case report hint that blood irradiation therapy (shining UV or laser light on your blood) may nudge blood sugar a little lower on its own. Vildagliptin (Galvus) already works to lower your blood sugar by helping your body release more of its own insulin after meals. So in theory, stacking the two could push your glucose down further than expected.

I want to be honest with you: this is a theoretical concern based on how things might work, not solid proof. Vildagliptin by itself rarely causes serious lows, but added together you might notice shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. Keep an eye on your readings and check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them, since your dose may need a look.
