Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Rezafungin
Rezafungin falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Boldo interacts with.
Boldo leaf contains ascaridole, a known liver toxin. Many cases of hepatotoxicity, including elevated liver transaminase levels and jaundice, have been reported in patients taking boldo.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with pairing Boldo and Rezafungin. This isn't about one changing the blood level of the other. It's simpler than that: both can be tough on the liver. Boldo leaf contains ascaridole, a compound linked in scattered reports to liver irritation, raised liver enzymes, and even jaundice. Rezafungin, an IV antifungal for serious bloodstream yeast infections, can also stress the liver in some people.
Put two liver stressors together and you may raise the odds of liver trouble. Keep in mind this warning is theoretical and based mostly on anecdotal reports, so it's a caution, not a certainty. Since you're on Rezafungin for a serious infection, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before adding boldo. Watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, or belly pain.

About Boldo
What is Boldo?
- Indigestion and bloating
- Mild constipation
- Liver and gallbladder support
- Appetite stimulation
- Urinary complaints
Boldo is a South American shrub whose leaves are traditionally used for digestive and gallbladder complaints, but good human evidence is very limited. The leaves and oil contain ascaridole, which can be toxic to the liver, so only ascaridole-free products should be used and only for short periods. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before trying it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
