Here's the thing to know about this combo. The pseudoephedrine part of your medicine is a decongestant that works by narrowing blood vessels and giving your system a bit of a stimulant nudge. In lab and animal studies, butcher's broom seems to act in a similar way (a mild alpha-adrenergic effect), so on paper the two could add together and push pseudoephedrine's effects a little harder.

What that might feel like is a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, or trouble sleeping. I want to be honest, though: this is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave in the lab, not on real cases in people. The codeine part isn't really involved here. If you have high blood pressure or heart concerns, check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.
