Guanadrel (Hylorel) is an older blood pressure medicine that works by lowering the activity of certain nerve signals that tighten your blood vessels. Butcher's broom is thought to do the opposite. In lab and animal studies, it acts like an alpha-adrenergic agonist, meaning it can gently squeeze blood vessels and nudge blood pressure up. So the concern is that butcher's broom could partly cancel out guanadrel's effect, leaving your blood pressure higher than you and your doctor want.

I want to be honest: this is a theoretical interaction based on how these things work, not on solid human studies, so it may not amount to much in practice. Still, since blood pressure control matters, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and keep an eye on your readings.
