Here's the gist for labetalol: it's a beta blocker, so it already works to lower your blood pressure and slow your heart rate. Animal studies suggest calamus may do something similar, gently slowing the heart and easing blood pressure down. Stack those two together and, in theory, you could push things too far.

What that might feel like: dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, unusual tiredness, or a slower-than-normal pulse. I want to be honest though, this concern comes from lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Given that calamus also carries its own safety worries, I'd skip it. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding any supplement to labetalol.

Labetalol tablets (Labetalol HCL, Labetalol Hydrochloride oral) are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines, such as diuretics. By lowering blood pressure, labetalol helps reduce the risk of serious events like stroke and heart attack.

Labetalol injection products (LABETALOL HCl, Labetalol HCl in Dextrose, Labetalol HCl in Sodium Chloride, Labetalol Hydrochloride intravenous) are used specifically for severe hypertension and are given intravenously in a hospital setting.
