Capsicum + Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin brand name: Farxiga.
Capsicum has a moderate interaction with Dapagliflozin. Theoretically, taking capsicum with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Dapagliflozin
Dapagliflozin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Capsicum interacts with.
Preliminary clinical research shows that consuming capsicum 5 grams along with a glucose drink attenuates the rise in plasma glucose after 30 minutes by 21%, decreases the 2-hour postprandial area under the curve of plasma glucose by 11%, and increases the 2-hour postprandial area under the curve of plasma insulin by 58% in healthy individuals when compared with placebo. Other clinical research shows that taking capsicum 5 mg daily for 28 days significantly reduces postprandial blood glucose and insulin levels, but not fasting blood glucose and insulin levels, in patients with gestational diabetes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: capsicum (chili pepper) may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. Some small studies suggest it can blunt the rise in blood sugar after a meal and nudge insulin up a bit. Since Farxiga (dapagliflozin) also works to lower your blood sugar by helping you flush extra sugar out in your urine, stacking the two together could in theory push your numbers a little lower than expected.
This is a fairly weak, mostly theoretical concern, and dapagliflozin on its own rarely causes true low blood sugar unless you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea. Still, it's worth keeping an eye out for shakiness, sweating, or dizziness. Food amounts of chili are unlikely to matter much, but check with your pharmacist before using concentrated supplements.

About Capsicum
What is Capsicum?
- Nerve pain (neuropathy)
- Muscle and joint pain (arthritis)
- Back pain
- Digestive support
- Cluster headache (intranasal)
Capsicum (chili pepper) contains capsaicin, which is best known and best studied as a topical treatment for certain types of pain. Topical capsaicin products are supported by reasonable evidence for some nerve and joint pain, but oral supplements are far less proven. Use it carefully, follow product directions, and talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting.
About Dapagliflozin
What Is Dapagliflozin Used For?
Brand name: Farxiga
Dapagliflozin is used for several serious conditions. It helps improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise). It also reduces the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
Farxiga (dapagliflozin) is additionally approved to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, hospitalization, and urgent visits due to heart failure in adults with heart failure — and to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease, including reducing the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular death, in adults with chronic kidney disease at risk of getting worse.

Dapagliflozin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Dapagliflozin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Capsicum — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
