Theoretically, Cassia auriculata may reduce blood glucose levels and might have additive effects on glucose levels when used with antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Medication dose adjustments may be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's something interesting about pairing these two. Cassia auriculata is studied (mostly in lab and animal research) for lowering blood sugar. Dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) does the opposite. It's your rescue shot for severe low blood sugar, working by telling your liver to dump stored sugar back into your blood. So in theory, a supplement that pushes sugar down could blunt or slow the rescue effect you're counting on in an emergency.

That said, this is a theoretical concern based on weak evidence, and dasiglucagon is a one-time emergency injection, not a daily medicine. Still, if your low-sugar episode doesn't fully resolve, get emergency help right away. It's worth telling your pharmacist or doctor you use this supplement so your whole diabetes plan stays safe.

Zegalogue is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — a dangerously low blood sugar episode — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. Severe hypoglycemia is a medical emergency that requires immediate action.

Zegalogue is not a day-to-day diabetes medicine. It is prescribed as an emergency kit to be on hand in case a person with diabetes becomes unresponsive or cannot safely swallow food or juice to raise their blood sugar.
