Theoretically, Cassia auriculata may reduce blood glucose levels and might have additive effects on glucose levels when used with antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Medication dose adjustments may be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the gist: insulin already does the heavy lifting of lowering your blood sugar. Cassia auriculata has been studied for its own possible sugar-lowering effect, so stacking the two together could push your glucose too low. That's the concern here, the effects may add up.

If your blood sugar drops too far, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, confused, or get a racing heartbeat. I'll be honest though, the evidence for this herb is weak, coming mostly from lab and animal studies, not solid human trials. So this is a theoretical caution, not a proven problem. Still, if you decide to use it alongside your insulin, check your blood sugar more often and let your doctor or pharmacist know, since your insulin dose may need adjusting.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Humalog, Humalog Mix 75/25, Humulin R, Humulin N, Humulin L, Humulin 50/50, Humulin 70/30, Humulin U, NovoLog, Velosulin, Novolog Mix 70/30, Actrapid, Humulin S, Insuman Rapid

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
