Theoretically, Cassia auriculata may reduce blood glucose levels and might have additive effects on glucose levels when used with antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Medication dose adjustments may be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the gist for glucose. Glucose itself is just sugar, often given by IV to raise blood sugar when it's running low. So this isn't about your body breaking down a medicine. The concern is the opposite direction: Cassia auriculata may push blood sugar down, and glucose is given to bring it back up. In theory, the supplement could work against what the glucose is meant to do.

I'll be straight with you though, this is based on lab and animal studies only, not solid human data, so it's more of a 'keep an eye out' than a red alert. If you or someone you care for relies on glucose for low blood sugar, mention this supplement to your pharmacist or doctor and check your numbers closely.
