Here's the gist for furosemide (Lasix). Cat's claw contains a compound called rhynchophylline, and in lab and animal studies it seems to gently lower blood pressure on its own. Since furosemide already pulls extra fluid and salt out of your body and can bring blood pressure down, stacking the two together might nudge your pressure a little lower than expected.

If that happened, you could feel dizzy, lightheaded, or wobbly when standing up. Now the honest part: this is only a theoretical concern based on lab work, and it has not actually been reported in people. So it's worth keeping an eye on, not panicking over. Don't change anything on your own, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before adding cat's claw.

About Furosemide

What Is Furosemide Used For?

Brand name: Lasix

Furosemide tablets and oral solution are used in adults and children to treat edema (fluid buildup) caused by congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and kidney disease, including nephrotic syndrome. In adults, oral furosemide is also used to treat high blood pressure, alone or alongside other blood pressure medications.

Furosemide injection is reserved for patients who cannot take oral medicine or for emergency situations such as acute pulmonary edema (sudden dangerous fluid in the lungs). Furoscix (subcutaneous injection) is specifically indicated for edema in adults with chronic heart failure or chronic kidney disease, including nephrotic syndrome, and in pediatric patients weighing at least 43 kg. Lasix Onyu (subcutaneous injection) is indicated for edema in adults with chronic heart failure only.
