Here's the gist for acetohexamide (Dymelor), an older sulfonylurea that helps lower blood sugar. Some medicines in this group can make your skin a little more sensitive to sunlight, meaning you might sunburn faster than usual. Chenopodium oil, from the epazote plant, has also been linked to sun sensitivity. So the thought is that using both together could add up and make your skin react more easily to UV light.

I'll be honest with you: this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not something proven in studies. It doesn't change how acetohexamide controls your blood sugar. Since this oil can be toxic if swallowed, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using it at all, and use sunscreen and cover up outdoors to play it safe.

Chenopodium oil is a strong-smelling essential oil from the epazote plant that was historically used to treat intestinal worms. It contains ascaridole, a compound that is quite toxic, and overdoses have caused serious harm, so it is no longer recommended for internal use. Safer modern deworming medicines exist, so talk with a pharmacist or doctor before using this oil.
