Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Cablivi
Cablivi falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Chokeberry interacts with.
Clinical and in vitro research suggests that chokeberry extract can temporarily inhibit platelet aggregation and decrease clot formation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Cablivi (caplacizumab) and chokeberry. Cablivi is an injected antibody that blocks von Willebrand factor to stop the dangerous clotting seen in aTTP. Because it already lowers your blood's ability to clot, bleeding is its main known risk (think nosebleeds, gum bleeding, easy bruising, or heavier bleeding). Chokeberry's polyphenols may, on their own, make platelets a bit less sticky. Stacking the two could nudge your bleeding risk a little higher.
Honestly, this is mostly theoretical and based on lab and early human data, so I wouldn't panic. Eating chokeberry as a food likely matters less than concentrated supplements. Since people on Cablivi are already closely watched, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before adding any chokeberry product.

About Chokeberry
What is Chokeberry?
- Antioxidant support
- Heart and blood vessel health
- Blood pressure support
- Blood sugar support
- Common cold symptoms
- Anti-inflammatory support
Chokeberry (aronia) is a dark berry rich in antioxidants called polyphenols, and it's widely eaten as juice, jam, and supplements. Early research hints it may support heart health, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is still limited and far from proven. It's generally well tolerated as a food, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements.
About Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection
What Is Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection Used For?
Brand name: Cablivi
-
Caplacizumab-yhdp injection is used to treat acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP; a disorder in which the body attacks itself and causes clots, low amounts of platelets and red blood cells, and could cause other serious complications) in combination with plasma exchange therapy and immunosuppressant medications. Caplacizumab-yhdp is in a class of medications called antithrombotic agents. It works by blocking the action of a certain substance in the body that causes the symptoms of aTTP.
