Chokeberry + Chlorpropamide
Chlorpropamide brand names: Diabinese, Chlorpropam.
Chokeberry has a moderate interaction with Chlorpropamide. Theoretically, chokeberry might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Chlorpropamide
Chlorpropamide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Chokeberry interacts with.
Some clinical research shows that chokeberry decreases levels of blood glucose in some patients with diabetes. However, other clinical research suggests that chokeberry has no significant effect on blood glucose levels.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: chokeberry may nudge your blood sugar a little lower on its own, and Chlorpropamide (Diabinese) already works hard to bring blood sugar down by pushing your pancreas to release more insulin. Stack the two together and there's a chance your sugar could dip too low. Watch for the usual low-sugar warning signs: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, dizziness, confusion, or sudden hunger.
I want to be honest about the evidence here. It's a bit mixed. Some studies show chokeberry lowers blood sugar, others show no real change, so this is more of a possible, theoretical concern than a sure thing. Food amounts like a little juice or jam are unlikely to cause trouble. Before starting a concentrated supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor and keep an eye on your home glucose readings.

About Chokeberry
What is Chokeberry?
- Antioxidant support
- Heart and blood vessel health
- Blood pressure support
- Blood sugar support
- Common cold symptoms
- Anti-inflammatory support
Chokeberry (aronia) is a dark berry rich in antioxidants called polyphenols, and it's widely eaten as juice, jam, and supplements. Early research hints it may support heart health, blood pressure, and blood sugar, but the evidence is still limited and far from proven. It's generally well tolerated as a food, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements.

Chlorpropamide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Chlorpropamide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Chokeberry — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
