Gliclazide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Chokeberry interacts with.

Theoretically, chokeberry might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Some clinical research shows that chokeberry decreases levels of blood glucose in some patients with diabetes. However, other clinical research suggests that chokeberry has no significant effect on blood glucose levels.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with this pair: gliclazide already lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Some studies suggest chokeberry can gently lower blood sugar too, so stacking the two could push your numbers a little lower than expected. That might show up as the usual signs of a low: shakiness, sweating, dizziness, hunger, or feeling foggy.

That said, the evidence here is mixed. Some research showed a blood sugar drop, while other studies found no real change, so this isn't a sure thing. Eating chokeberry as a food is unlikely to cause trouble, but a concentrated supplement is harder to predict. If you'd like to try it, just check your levels a bit more closely and chat with your pharmacist or doctor first.
