No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Clivers and Cefprozil in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Clivers and Cefprozil

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Cefprozil and Clivers in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Clivers at all — not against Cefprozil, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Clivers safety at a glance

Clivers overall Use caution Generally considered low-risk in food-like amounts, but human safety data are limited.
Pregnancy Avoid Not enough safety information, so it is best avoided during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding Avoid No reliable safety data exist, so avoid use while breastfeeding.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

What Cefprozil’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Clivers. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Cefprozil’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both.

  • Stomach pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Cefprozil. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 780 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Cefprozil that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Clivers’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Clivers side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Clivers has no side effects.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Cefprozil

This page covers Clivers only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Cefprozil page lists 60 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Cefprozil page

“Cefprozil (Cefzil) is a cephalosporin antibiotic, usually a short course for ear, sinus, throat, or skin infections, and three of the 60 supplements on this list warrant real caution even for a week of pills. Activated charcoal can bind the drug and pull it out of your system before it works.”

About Clivers

What is Clivers?

  • Supporting urinary tract and 'cleansing'
  • Mild swelling or fluid retention (diuretic use)
  • Skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis
  • Swollen lymph glands
  • Minor wounds and skin irritation (topical)

Clivers (Galium aparine) is a common wild plant used in traditional herbal medicine mainly as a 'cleansing' herb, mild diuretic, and skin remedy. Strong human evidence for these uses is lacking, so its benefits remain unproven. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding because safety is not established.

Galium aparine · Rubiaceae · Aerial parts (the leaves, stems, and flowering tops gathered above ground) · Tea (infusion), tincture, fresh juice, capsules, and topical preparations

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Clivers is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Clivers record says about it on its own.

Clivers: dosing

There is no official, well-studied standardized dose for clivers. Traditional use varies widely depending on whether it is taken as a tea, tincture, or fresh juice, and product strengths differ from brand to brand. The safest approach is to follow the directions on the product label and not exceed the suggested amount.

About Cefprozil

What Is Cefprozil Used For?

Brand name: Cefzil

Cefprozil tablets and oral suspension are both used to treat mild to moderate bacterial infections in adults and children. Approved uses include pharyngitis/tonsillitis (strep throat), acute sinusitis, otitis media (ear infections), acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, and uncomplicated skin and skin-structure infections.

Cefprozil tablets are also approved for secondary bacterial infection of acute bronchitis. Because antibiotic resistance is a real concern, cefprozil should only be used when the infection is proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria that respond to it.
