Enoxacin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) INHIBITORS — the group Cocoa interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the levels and adverse effects of caffeine.
Cocoa contains caffeine. Caffeine is metabolized by cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2),. Theoretically, drugs that inhibit CYP1A2 may decrease the clearance rate of caffeine from cocoa and increase caffeine levels.

Here's the thing to know about pairing cocoa with enoxacin: this antibiotic is one of the fluoroquinolones that can slow down an enzyme in your liver called CYP1A2. That same enzyme is what your body uses to clear caffeine, and cocoa does contain a bit of caffeine. So in theory, while you're on enoxacin, caffeine can hang around longer and build up a little.

What that might feel like is the usual too-much-caffeine stuff: jitteriness, a racing heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired. Honestly, the caffeine in a normal cup of cocoa or a piece of chocolate is small, so most people won't notice much. This is a theoretical concern based on how the drug works, not strong proof. If you load up on caffeine from other sources too, just keep an eye on how you feel, and check with your pharmacist if you have questions.

Here's the thing to know if you're on enoxacin: this antibiotic can slow down how fast your body clears caffeine. Cocoa naturally contains some caffeine, so while you're taking enoxacin, that caffeine can hang around longer than usual and stack up a bit.

What might that feel like? The usual caffeine stuff turned up a notch, things like feeling jittery, a racing or pounding heart, trouble sleeping, or a touch of anxiety. The good news is the amount of caffeine in a normal cup of cocoa or a piece of chocolate is small, so most people won't notice much. I'd be more cautious with concentrated cocoa supplements or if you're also drinking coffee, tea, or energy drinks. If you feel wired, ease up and check with your pharmacist.
