Ozanimod Hydrochloride falls under MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS (MAOIs) — the group Cocoa interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the risk of a hypertensive crisis.

Here's the connection: ozanimod (Zeposia) and its active breakdown products can act a bit like a mild MAO inhibitor in the body. That matters because cocoa naturally contains some caffeine. In theory, pairing a lot of caffeine with an MAOI-type drug could push blood pressure up, and at the extreme that raises the worry about a hypertensive crisis (a dangerous spike in blood pressure with headache, chest pain, or vision changes).

The good news is that this is a theoretical concern based on how the drug works, not strong real-world data. A normal cup of hot cocoa or a square of chocolate is very unlikely to cause trouble. The bigger question is concentrated cocoa or caffeine supplements. Since Zeposia already comes with blood pressure cautions, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding any concentrated product.
