Here's the simple version: coffee charcoal acts like a sponge in your gut. Because of its porous, charcoal-like surface, it can grab onto things sitting in your digestive tract, and that may include your Turalio (pexidartinib) capsule before your body has a chance to absorb it. If less of the drug gets into your bloodstream, it may not work as well against your tumor, which is the whole point of taking it.

This concern is based on how charcoal behaves in general, not on a specific study with pexidartinib, so it's more of a careful, common-sense precaution than a proven problem. A good habit is keeping the two well apart, ideally separating them by at least two hours. Please run the timing past your pharmacist or oncologist first, and don't change your pexidartinib on your own.
