Insulin Glargine Recombinant falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Dragon Fruit interacts with.

Dragon fruit might lower blood glucose levels. Theoretically, it might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. This might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in some patients. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.

Here's the simple version: dragon fruit may nudge your blood sugar a little lower on its own. Since insulin glargine (Toujeo) already works to bring glucose down, adding a meaningful amount of dragon fruit could add to that effect. The concern is that your sugar dips too low, which can cause shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or even fainting.

The good news is this evidence is fairly weak, and enjoying dragon fruit as a normal food is unlikely to cause trouble for most people. Concentrated extracts or large amounts are where you'd want to be more careful. Keep checking your glucose like usual, watch for lows, and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before changing your insulin dose or adding a supplement.
