Galantamine Extended Release falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Eleuthero interacts with.

Theoretically, eleuthero might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro and animal research suggest that standardized extracts of eleuthero might inhibit CYP2D6. However, research in healthy human volunteers has found that taking eleuthero 485 mg twice daily for 14 days does not inhibit CYP2D6 drug metabolism.

Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break down galantamine. In a test tube and in animals, eleuthero looked like it might slow that enzyme down, which in theory could let galantamine build up a bit. If that happened, you might notice more of its usual effects, like nausea, an upset stomach, diarrhea, dizziness, or a slower heartbeat.

Here's the reassuring part: when researchers gave healthy people eleuthero (485 mg twice a day for two weeks), it did not actually change how CYP2D6 works. So this concern stays mostly theoretical, and the interaction is rated minor and unlikely. Still, since galantamine can be touchy on the stomach and heart rate, it's worth mentioning eleuthero to your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

Here's the gist for galantamine ER (Razadyne ER). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 (along with another called CYP2D6) to help clear galantamine from your system. In a test tube and in animals, eleuthero looked like it might slow that enzyme down, which could in theory let galantamine build up a bit. If that happened, you might notice more of galantamine's usual side effects, like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, or a slower heartbeat.
