Vortioxetine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Eleuthero interacts with.

Theoretically, eleuthero might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro and animal research suggest that standardized extracts of eleuthero might inhibit CYP2D6. However, research in healthy human volunteers has found that taking eleuthero 485 mg twice daily for 14 days does not inhibit CYP2D6 drug metabolism.

Here's the gist: your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear vortioxetine (Trintellix) out of your system. In lab dishes and animal studies, eleuthero looked like it might slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in people, vortioxetine could build up slightly and you might notice more of its usual effects, like nausea, headache, dizziness, or trouble sleeping. Vortioxetine is an active drug, not a prodrug, so more of it means a stronger effect, not a weaker one.

The good news is that an actual human study found eleuthero did not meaningfully block CYP2D6. So this is mostly theoretical and unlikely to cause real problems. Still, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you notice new side effects.
