Ribociclib Succinate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Eleuthero interacts with.

Theoretically, eleuthero might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro and animal research suggest that standardized extracts of eleuthero might inhibit CYP3A4. However, research in healthy human volunteers has found that taking eleuthero 485 mg twice daily for 14 days does not inhibit CYP3A4 drug metabolism.

Your body clears ribociclib (Kisqali) using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. The concern with eleuthero is that, in test-tube and animal studies, it appeared to slow that enzyme down. If that happened in people, ribociclib could build up a bit more than expected, which in theory might mean stronger side effects like low white blood cell counts, nausea, tiredness, or heart rhythm changes (a longer QT interval).

Here's the reassuring part: when researchers actually gave eleuthero to healthy volunteers, it did not meaningfully slow CYP3A4. So this is mostly a theoretical worry, rated minor and unlikely. Still, ribociclib is a serious cancer medicine, so please run any supplement past your oncologist or pharmacist before starting it.

What Is Ribociclib Used For?

Brand name: Kisqali

Kisqali is used to treat adults with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. For early breast cancer (stage II or III, at high risk of recurrence), Kisqali is used together with an aromatase inhibitor as adjuvant treatment — meaning it's given after initial treatment to help reduce the chance the cancer comes back.

For advanced or metastatic breast cancer (cancer that has spread), Kisqali is used in combination with either an aromatase inhibitor or fulvestrant — either as the first hormone-based treatment or after the cancer has progressed on another hormone therapy.
