Dulaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group European Barberry interacts with.

Theoretically, taking European barberry with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that European barberry juice reduces fasting glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes who are also taking antidiabetes drugs. Additionally, some animal studies show that berberine, a constituent of European barberry, has antiglycemic potential. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Here's the simple version: both European barberry (mainly its berberine) and your weekly Trulicity (dulaglutide) shot work to lower blood sugar. When you stack two blood-sugar-lowering agents together, the numbers can dip lower than you intend. Some early studies in people with type 2 diabetes hint that barberry juice can nudge fasting glucose down a bit, so the worry is that your sugar could drop too far.

Dulaglutide on its own rarely causes serious lows, but adding a supplement like this could tip the balance, especially if you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. The evidence here is fairly limited, so I wouldn't panic, but please check your readings closely and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Trulicity

Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.
