Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group False Unicorn interacts with.

In vitro, false unicorn extract inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity. Theoretically, false unicorn might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates. Drugs that might be affected include some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, nicardipine, verapamil), chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), glucocorticoids, cisapride (Propulsid), alfentanil (Alfenta), fentanyl (Sublimaze), losartan (Cozaar), fluoxetine (Prozac), midazolam (Versed), omeprazole (Prilosec), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), fexofenadine (Allegra), and numerous others.

Your birth control pill, Yasmin (drospirenone with ethinyl estradiol), is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab tests only, False Unicorn appeared to slow that same enzyme down. In theory, that could let a bit more of the estrogen and progestin hang around in your body, which might nudge up side effects like nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, or spotting.

Here's my honest take: this is based on a test-tube study, not real people, so it's a maybe, not a sure thing. Drospirenone can already raise potassium a little, so combining it with unstudied herbs makes me extra cautious. Please don't change anything on your own. Just loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding False Unicorn so they can keep an eye on you.
