Sofosbuvir, Velpatasvir, Voxilaprevir falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group False Unicorn interacts with.

In vitro, false unicorn extract inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity. Theoretically, false unicorn might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates. Drugs that might be affected include some calcium channel blockers (diltiazem, nicardipine, verapamil), chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide, paclitaxel, vinblastine, vincristine, vindesine), antifungals (ketoconazole, itraconazole), glucocorticoids, cisapride (Propulsid), alfentanil (Alfenta), fentanyl (Sublimaze), losartan (Cozaar), fluoxetine (Prozac), midazolam (Versed), omeprazole (Prilosec), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), fexofenadine (Allegra), and numerous others.

Here's the gist for Vosevi (sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, voxilaprevir): one piece of this combo, voxilaprevir, is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In a lab dish, False Unicorn appeared to slow that enzyme down. If that held true in the body, your levels of voxilaprevir could creep up, which might mean more of its usual side effects like headache, tiredness, nausea, or diarrhea.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is based only on a test-tube study, not on real people, so it's theoretical and may not happen at all. Still, since you're treating hepatitis C and want this regimen to work properly, I'd loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding False Unicorn rather than guessing.

What Is Sofosbuvir, Velpatasvir, and Voxilaprevir Used For?

Brand name: Vosevi

Vosevi is used to treat chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in adults who do not have cirrhosis or who have compensated cirrhosis (mild liver scarring that is still functioning). It is specifically for people who have already been treated with an HCV regimen before and need a different option.

Vosevi is approved for adults with HCV genotype 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 who previously took a medicine that included an NS5A inhibitor. It is also approved for adults with genotype 1a or 3 who previously took sofosbuvir without an NS5A inhibitor.
