Simvastatin, Sitagliptin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Fennel interacts with.

Theoretically, fennel might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.

In vitro research suggests that fennel inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme activity. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Juvisync is a combo pill: simvastatin (a cholesterol medicine) plus sitagliptin (a blood sugar medicine). The piece that matters here is simvastatin, which your body clears using an enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies hint that fennel may slow that enzyme down. If that happened in people, simvastatin levels could rise, and higher levels can mean more muscle aches, muscle weakness, or rarely a serious muscle problem.

Here's the reassuring part: this comes only from test-tube research and has not been seen in real people. Cooking and seasoning with fennel is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated fennel supplements or the essential oil are a different story, so just run those by your pharmacist or doctor first.
