What Is Pegloticase Injection Used For?

Brand name: Krystexxa

Krystexxa is used to treat chronic gout in adults whose gout has not responded to conventional treatments — either because standard uric-acid-lowering medications (like xanthine oxidase inhibitors) haven't brought uric acid to a normal level, or because those drugs cannot be used.

Krystexxa is not recommended for people who have high uric acid levels but no gout symptoms (a condition called asymptomatic hyperuricemia).
