Rescinnamine (Moderil) is an older blood pressure medicine that works by lowering the activity of certain nerve signals, which relaxes your vessels and brings pressure down. The concern here is simple: gentian, in lab studies, has been shown to relax blood vessels on its own. So if you pair it with a drug already pushing your pressure lower, the two could add up and drop it a little too far.

If that happened, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or a bit faint when you stand up. I want to be honest, though: this is theoretical, based only on lab and animal research, not on real patients. Occasional bitters before a meal are unlikely to be a big deal, but if you use concentrated gentian regularly, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first.
