Amitriptyline, Chlordiazepoxide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Guggul interacts with.

Theoretically, guggul might reduce the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that guggul constituents known as guggulsterones can induce CYP3A4.

Limbitrol DS combines two active medicines: amitriptyline (an older antidepressant) and chlordiazepoxide (a benzodiazepine for anxiety). Neither is a prodrug, so they work as-is once you take them. Both lean on your liver's CYP3A4 system to be broken down. Lab and animal research hints that guggul may speed up that system, which could clear these drugs a little faster and make them less effective. In real terms, that might mean your depression or anxiety feels less controlled.

Keep in mind this is theoretical, based only on test-tube and animal work, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, before adding a guggul supplement, run it by your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on how you're feeling.
