Here's the situation with Intrarosa (prasterone) and guggul. Prasterone is a vaginal insert that your body converts into estrogen and other hormones right where it's applied. In lab studies (not in people), the active parts of guggul called guggulsterones acted a little like estrogen, switching on estrogen receptors. So the worry is mostly theoretical: stacking guggul on top of a hormone product could, in principle, add to estrogen-like activity.

What might that look like in real life? Possibly things like breast tenderness, vaginal bleeding or spotting, or vaginal discharge. To be honest, the evidence here is weak and based only on test-tube work, so I wouldn't panic. Still, before you combine the two, run it by your pharmacist or doctor so they can weigh it for your situation.
