Hesperidin + Minocycline Hydrochloride
Minocycline Hydrochloride brand names: Ximino, Minolira.
Hesperidin has a moderate interaction with Minocycline Hydrochloride. Theoretically, hesperidin might inhibit P-glycoprotein-mediated drug efflux and potentially increase levels of drugs that are substrates of P-glycoprotein.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Minocycline Hydrochloride
Minocycline Hydrochloride falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Hesperidin interacts with.
In vitro research shows that hesperidin can inhibit P-glycoprotein efflux. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for minocycline. Your body uses a little cellular pump called P-glycoprotein to push certain drugs back out of cells and help clear them. In lab dish experiments, hesperidin (the citrus flavonoid often paired with diosmin for veins) seems to slow that pump down. In theory, that could let a bit more minocycline hang around in your system, which might nudge up common side effects like dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, or stomach upset.
The important part: this has only been seen in test tubes, not in real people. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it, and ordinary citrus fruit certainly won't be an issue. If you're taking a concentrated hesperidin supplement, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye out. Don't stop either one on your own.

About Hesperidin
What is Hesperidin?
- Hemorrhoids
- Varicose veins and poor circulation
- Leg swelling (venous insufficiency)
- High blood pressure
- Antioxidant support
Hesperidin is a flavonoid found in citrus fruits that is often combined with diosmin and used for vein and circulation problems like hemorrhoids and varicose veins. Some evidence supports these uses, but data for many other claims is limited. It is generally well tolerated, but pregnant and breastfeeding people should avoid it because safety has not been established.
About Minocycline
What Is Minocycline Used For?
Brand names: Ximino, Minolira
Oral and intravenous minocycline products treat many serious bacterial infections, including Rocky Mountain spotted fever, respiratory tract infections, sexually transmitted infections such as lymphogranuloma venereum and nongonococcal urethritis, plague, cholera, brucellosis, tularemia, and others caused by susceptible organisms. MINOCIN Intravenous is used when oral therapy is not adequate or tolerated.
Extended-release oral minocycline tablets are indicated specifically for inflammatory lesions of moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 12 years and older — not for treating infections. AMZEEQ (topical foam) treats inflammatory lesions of moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 9 years and older. ZILXI (topical foam) and EMROSI (oral capsule) are indicated for inflammatory lesions of rosacea in adults. ARESTIN (oral powder placed by a dental professional) is used alongside scaling and root planing to reduce pocket depth in adult periodontitis.
