Hu zhang contains the constituent resveratrol. In vitro research shows that resveratrol might inhibit the CYP1A2 enzyme. This interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your leukemia medicine, enasidenib (Idhifa). Hu Zhang is rich in resveratrol, and in test-tube studies resveratrol may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Since enasidenib is partly handled by that same enzyme, blocking it could let a bit more of the drug build up in your body. In theory, that might mean stronger effects and a higher chance of side effects like nausea, low blood counts, or elevated bilirubin.
I want to be straight with you, though: this is only a lab-based concern and has never actually been reported in people. That said, enasidenib is a serious cancer drug with a worrying side effect called differentiation syndrome, so I wouldn't add Hu Zhang on your own. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

Here's the situation with Hu Zhang and your leukemia medication, Idhifa (enasidenib). Hu Zhang is loaded with resveratrol, and in test-tube studies that compound appears to slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2C19, which helps your body process enasidenib. If that enzyme is blocked, the drug could theoretically build up a bit more than expected, which might mean stronger side effects like nausea, low appetite, elevated bilirubin, or the more serious effects this medicine is monitored for.
I want to be straight with you though: this is purely a theoretical concern based on lab work, and it has never actually been reported in real people. Still, because enasidenib treats a serious cancer and is carefully dosed, please check with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding Hu Zhang.

Hu zhang contains the constituent resveratrol. In vitro research shows that resveratrol might inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, a clinical study in adults with NAFLD found that adding resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks did not necessitate dose adjustments to any established medications metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here's the idea behind this pairing. Your leukemia medicine, enasidenib (Idhifa), is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Hu Zhang is rich in resveratrol, and in test-tube studies resveratrol can slow that enzyme down a bit. If the enzyme slows, enasidenib could theoretically build up a little, which might mean more of its side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, low appetite, or rises in bilirubin. Enasidenib also carries a risk of a serious reaction called differentiation syndrome, so you don't want anything nudging its levels unpredictably.
Honestly, this is a theoretical concern. A human study using high-dose resveratrol didn't force any dose changes. Still, since you're on cancer treatment, please run Hu Zhang past your oncology team or pharmacist first.

Idhifa (enasidenib) is used to treat adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) — a fast-moving cancer of the blood and bone marrow — whose disease has come back after treatment (relapsed) or has stopped responding to treatment (refractory). It is specifically for patients whose leukemia has a mutation in the IDH2 gene, which must be confirmed by an FDA-approved test before starting therapy.
