SEROTONERGIC DRUGS

Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Iboga interacts with.
Ibogaine, a constituent in iboga, has serotonergic effects. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with iboga might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders. Monitor patients for signs of serotonin syndrome and other serotonergic side effects if using iboga with serotonergic drugs.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination product contains an antihistamine (chlorpheniramine), a drying agent (methscopolamine), and a decongestant (phenylephrine). The piece that matters here is chlorpheniramine, which gently nudges serotonin in the brain. Iboga (through ibogaine) also pushes serotonin upward, so putting the two together could theoretically stack those effects.
I want to be honest that this concern is theoretical, based on how the drugs work rather than real cases. Still, in rare situations too much serotonin can cause a reaction called serotonin syndrome, with agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shaking, or confusion. Phenylephrine can already raise blood pressure and heart rate, and ibogaine carries serious heart rhythm risks of its own. Please don't combine these without checking with your pharmacist or doctor first.

ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS
2 of 3Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine also falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS.
In vitro research shows that iboga can inhibit acetylcholinesterase and might increase acetylcholine levels. However, the constituent ibogaine does not appear to have this effect.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here is the idea behind this pairing. Your combination product contains two ingredients that work by blocking acetylcholine, a nerve signaling chemical: chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine) and methscopolamine (a drying agent). Lab studies suggest Iboga may raise acetylcholine levels, which could in theory push back against those drying effects and make the medicine work a bit less well for your runny nose and congestion. Interestingly, ibogaine itself, the main active alkaloid, does not seem to do this.
This is very weak, test-tube-only evidence, so I would not lose sleep over it. The bigger concern is Iboga itself, which can cause dangerous heart rhythm problems and is not legal here. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything with this product.

CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) INHIBITORS
3 of 3Chlorpheniramine, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) INHIBITORS.
Ibogaine, the active constituent of iboga, is a substrate of CYP2D6. One pharmacokinetic study shows that taking the CYP2D6 inhibitor paroxetine prior to taking ibogaine 20 mg increases the exposure to ibogaine and its metabolite noribogaine by 2-fold when compared with ibogaine alone.

Here's the thing to understand about this combo: the concern runs toward the iboga, not the cold medicine. Your allergy product (the chlorpheniramine, methscopolamine, and phenylephrine blend) can mildly block an enzyme called CYP2D6. That same enzyme is what your body uses to clear ibogaine. So if you blocked it, ibogaine could build up and hit harder. In one study, a stronger CYP2D6 blocker doubled ibogaine levels.
Why does this matter? Because ibogaine on its own can cause dangerous heart rhythm problems, and pushing its levels higher is a real safety worry. Honestly, ibogaine isn't legal here and isn't something I'd recommend outside strict research. If you're considering anything like this, please talk it through with your pharmacist or doctor first.
