Cyclobenzaprine falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Iboga interacts with.

Theoretically, taking iboga with serotonergic drugs might increase levels of serotonin, resulting in additive effects with serotonergic drugs.
Ibogaine, a constituent in iboga, has serotonergic effects. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with iboga might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders. Monitor patients for signs of serotonin syndrome and other serotonergic side effects if using iboga with serotonergic drugs.

Here's the concern when you pair Iboga with cyclobenzaprine: both can nudge serotonin activity in your brain upward. Cyclobenzaprine isn't a prodrug, so this isn't about one activating the other. Instead, the worry is simply additive. Stacking two serotonin-raising substances can, in theory, tip you toward serotonin syndrome, which shows up as agitation, a racing heart, sweating, shivering, muscle twitching, or confusion.

I'll be honest, this interaction is theoretical, based on how each one behaves rather than real reports. But Iboga (ibogaine) carries its own serious heart-rhythm dangers and is illegal here, so I can't recommend it at all. If you're considering anything like this, please talk it through with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
