Theoretically, iboga may have an additive effect with drugs that prolong the QT interval.

Here's the concern with pairing Iboga with flecainide. Both can stretch out a part of your heartbeat called the QT interval. Flecainide already affects the heart's electrical timing, and case reports show ibogaine (the active compound in Iboga) can do the same. Stack them together and the effects may add up, which can raise the risk of dangerous irregular rhythms, dizziness, fainting, or palpitations.

This is rated as theoretical and based mostly on scattered case reports, so it isn't proven in large studies. Still, flecainide is a serious heart-rhythm drug with a narrow safety margin, and Iboga itself carries real cardiac risks. Please don't combine these without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.

Iboga is a Central African shrub whose root bark contains ibogaine, a powerful hallucinogenic compound studied mainly for addiction. It carries serious safety risks, including dangerous heart rhythm changes and deaths, and ibogaine is illegal in the United States and many other countries. We do not recommend its use outside of tightly controlled research settings.

About Flecainide

What Is Flecainide Used For?

Brand name: Tambocor

Flecainide Acetate tablets are used to prevent episodes of certain abnormal heart rhythms. In patients without structural heart disease, it is approved to prevent paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT — episodes of rapid heart rate starting above the ventricles) and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation/flutter (PAF — intermittent episodes of irregular, rapid heart rhythm in the upper chambers), when these cause disabling symptoms.

Flecainide Acetate tablets are also used to prevent life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias — dangerous rapid rhythms starting in the lower chambers of the heart, such as sustained ventricular tachycardia. It is not recommended for less serious ventricular arrhythmias, for patients with a recent heart attack, or for chronic (ongoing, persistent) atrial fibrillation.
