Mifepristone falls under QT INTERVAL-PROLONGING DRUGS — the group Iboga interacts with.

Theoretically, iboga may have an additive effect with drugs that prolong the QT interval.
Numerous case reports suggest that ibogaine, a constituent in iboga, can cause QT interval prolongation.

Here's the concern with combining Iboga and mifepristone (Korlym). Both can affect your heart's electrical timing, something doctors call the QT interval. Mifepristone already carries a known risk of stretching out that interval, and there are several case reports where ibogaine (the active compound in Iboga) did the same thing. Put them together and the effect may stack, which in rare cases can lead to a dangerous, irregular heartbeat.

This isn't about Iboga changing how mifepristone is broken down. It's more of an additive heart-rhythm effect. The evidence here is mostly anecdotal, but ibogaine itself is genuinely risky and has been linked to deaths. Please don't combine these without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.

Iboga is a Central African shrub whose root bark contains ibogaine, a powerful hallucinogenic compound studied mainly for addiction. It carries serious safety risks, including dangerous heart rhythm changes and deaths, and ibogaine is illegal in the United States and many other countries. We do not recommend its use outside of tightly controlled research settings.

About Mifepristone (Korlym)

What Is Mifepristone (Korlym) Used For?

Brand names: Mifeprex, Korlym

Korlym is prescribed for adults with endogenous Cushing's syndrome — a condition where the body produces too much cortisol — who also have type 2 diabetes or trouble controlling blood sugar. It works to bring those blood sugar levels under control.

It is only for blood sugar problems that are directly caused by Cushing's syndrome. It should not be used to treat ordinary type 2 diabetes unrelated to this condition.
