Ivy Gourd + Tamoxifen Citrate
Tamoxifen Citrate brand names: Nolvadex, Soltamox.
We found no known interaction between Ivy Gourd and Tamoxifen Citrate in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Ivy Gourd and Tamoxifen Citrate
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Tamoxifen Citrate and Ivy Gourd in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Tamoxifen Citrate
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Tamoxifen Citrate is filed under 9 classifications — including cytochrome p450 2c9 (cyp2c9) substrates, glucuronidated drugs, qt interval-prolonging drugs. Ivy Gourd has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being antidiabetes drugs (moderate) — and none of Tamoxifen Citrate’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Tamoxifen Citrate page
“Tamoxifen (Nolvadex, Soltamox) often stands between a breast cancer patient and a recurrence, so the stakes on this page run higher than usual. Eleven of the 210 supplements and herbs on file carry a major rating, and those eleven deserve your attention ahead of everything else.”

About Ivy Gourd
What is Ivy Gourd?
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive complaints
- Skin conditions
- General wellness and nutrition
Ivy gourd is a tropical vine widely eaten as a vegetable and used in traditional medicine, most often for blood sugar support. Early human research hints it may modestly lower blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to replace standard diabetes care. If you have diabetes or take medicine, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using ivy gourd supplements.
Coccinia grandis · Cucurbitaceae · Fruit, leaves, stems, and roots · Fresh vegetable, dried powder, capsules, leaf extracts, teas
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Ivy Gourd is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Ivy Gourd record says about it on its own.
Ivy Gourd: dosing
There is no official or well-established standard dose for ivy gourd supplements. Studies have used different forms and amounts, so it is hard to recommend a specific dose.If you choose to use an ivy gourd product, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Tamoxifen
What Is Tamoxifen Used For?
Brand names: Nolvadex, Soltamox
Tamoxifen is used to treat metastatic breast cancer (breast cancer that has spread) in both women and men, and as adjuvant (after-surgery) therapy for early-stage breast cancer in women. It also reduces the occurrence of cancer in the opposite breast when used as adjuvant therapy.
In women with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) — a very early, non-invasive form of breast cancer — tamoxifen is used after breast surgery and radiation to reduce the risk of developing invasive breast cancer. It is also approved to reduce the incidence of breast cancer in women who are at high risk but have not yet been diagnosed. Soltamox (oral solution) is specifically indicated for all of these uses in adult patients.
