Targiniq ER pairs oxycodone, a strong opioid pain reliever, with naloxone in a single tablet. Like other opioids, oxycodone already slows down your central nervous system. Jamaican dogwood has its own calming, sedating properties, so taking the two together could stack those effects on top of each other.

In plain terms, you might feel extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or unusually relaxed, and in larger amounts there's a theoretical worry about slowed or shallow breathing. I'll be honest: this concern comes from how these compounds behave in lab and animal work, not strong human studies, so it's more caution than certainty. Still, with a powerful opioid involved, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
